Outdoor CPE (customer premises equipment) is mounted on an exterior wall or pole, where it picks up a meaningfully stronger mobile signal than any indoor router could, then shares that connection inside as normal WiFi. It exists specifically for addresses within range of a tower but with no fiber, cable, or DSL option, or where indoor signal alone is too weak to be usable.

5G is commercially live on Jazz and Zong in major Pakistani cities. Ufone and Telenor SIMs fall back to 4G LTE on this hardware until their own 5G networks launch, though the device works on any Pakistani SIM either way.
Outdoor CPE uses built-in high-gain antennas that aren't removable or upgradable. Outdoor placement itself is what improves the signal, not an add-on antenna the way an indoor 4G router might use one.
