Are the Ufone Blaze devices PTA approved?

Yes, both Ufone Blaze devices we carry, the DWR-401 and the DWR-930M, are PTA type-approved.

Not yet commercially launched, pending its merger with Telenor. Every device here still works fine on Ufone's 4G LTE network in the meantime.

Can I use a Ufone Blaze device on a different network?

Yes. Despite the Ufone branding, both the DWR-401 and DWR-930M are factory unlocked and work the same on Jazz, Zong, or Telenor SIMs.

Every router and pocket WiFi device we sell is factory unlocked, so a Ufone SIM works the same as any other network. Ufone has not yet commercially launched 5G, pending its merger with Telenor, so a 5G-capable device on a Ufone SIM currently runs on 4G LTE only, the same speed a dedicated 4G device gives you for less.

Which devices work with a Ufone SIM

All of them. We carry two devices sold under Ufone's own "Blaze" branding, the DWR-401 and the DWR-930M, both pocket WiFi hotspots with a removable or fixed battery. Both are factory unlocked and PTA type-approved despite the Ufone branding, and every other device in the catalog accepts a Ufone SIM the same way.

Why we don't recommend a 5G device on Ufone yet

Since Ufone has no live 5G network, a 5G router or outdoor CPE on a Ufone SIM runs at 4G LTE speeds only, the same speed a purpose-built 4G device gives you, usually for less money. Save the extra cost for the day Ufone's 5G launches, or consider it now only if you're also weighing a switch to Jazz or Zong for their live 5G.

When Ufone's pending Telenor merger might change this

Ufone's merger with Telenor may affect its 5G rollout timeline, but neither network has announced a public 5G launch date as of now. We'll update this guide once that changes rather than guess at a date.

A quick way to decide on Ufone

Need portable WiFi for a phone, laptop, or a handful of devices: the Ufone Blaze DWR-401 or DWR-930M, both PTA approved and built for exactly this.
Need WiFi for a whole home or office with wired Ethernet: a 4G router instead, since pocket WiFi caps out around 8 connected devices on Ufone-branded models.
